Each administrative area may have local procedures impacting travel arrangement and reimbursement. Before booking travel, please check to be sure you are following established guidelines and procedures in your area.

Penn State faculty and staff who wish to make travel arrangements have the following options:

  1. Book online using Travel OnLion (with Travel OnLion support if necessary).
  2. Contact an outside travel agency or outside booking sites.

The fees associated with using the Travel OnLion option is as follows:

Online Booking: No fee (effective February 18, 2013)

Reservation Changes: $10.00
(however, please note that airlines may charge additional fees)

For Federally funded travel, travelers who use outside booking sites may need to provide comparison pricing from Travel OnLion to document that the lowest available airfare was obtained. See the Airfare Booking Options and Services chart (pdf) for details.
